Reinvestment Zone Number Eight, City of Houston, Texas, was created by the City Council of the City of Houston, Texas on December 10, 1997, by Ordinance No. 97-1524 and enlarged by Ordinance No. 1999-0706. It was expanded a third time by Ordinance 2014-1192 on December 17, 2014.

Telephone Road Reconstruction Project

The Gulfgate Redevelopment Authority (TIRZ 8) proposes to reconstruct Telephone Road from the S Loop East Freeway frontage road to Reveille Street in Houston, Texas. The purpose of the project includes improving mobility, access management, and safety for the adjacent community as well as for the greater Houston region.
