1-mile roadway resurfacing project along Park Place Boulevard from IH-45 and SH 3 to promote redevelopment throughout the Gulfgate District.

The project included roadway resurfacing, new 8-foot wide sidewalks on both sides of the road, two pedestrian actuated traffic signals, new and upgraded METRO bus stops with shelters, street lighting, roadway restriping, and signal upgrades at SH 3. The pedestrian improvements improve east/west pedestrian and bike connectivity and safety around the elementary school and new Botanic Garden, and tie into the new Sims Bayou trail network. This project was in partnership with the City of Houston and the District I Office.

This project represents $5 million in community improvements.
