
About the Park
In 2021, the Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone # 8 (TIRZ 8) completed a Parks Master Plan for its boundaries, which identified areas within the TIRZ 8 that did not have any parks nearby to serve the community and recommended land acquisition in those areas. Following the study, TIRZ 8 acquired a 5.25-acre property at the intersection of Martindale Road and Madden Lane. The property will be developed by the TIRZ on behalf of the Houston Parks and Recreation Department and dedicated as a city park.
Project Status
The future park site has been acquired and is in the early design phase. This will begin with public outreach in Spring 2026 to gather community input to guide the design of the park space. Check back for details on the coming community meeting.
